Problem Statement
Retail crypto investors and traders lack a unified, mobile-first experience that delivers real-time prices, curated trending coins, and digestible insights. Users frequently switch between multiple apps and websites to track prices, search for new coins, and understand the reasons behind price swings — often missing critical info during volatile periods.
Challenge & Scope
- Home Screen: Real-time price tiles for the top 100 coins and a curated “Trending” section showcasing the fastest movers
- Market Screen: Scrollable, searchable list of all supported coins, with filters by market cap, volume, and gainers/losers
- Coin Detail Screen: Interactive price chart, fundamental metrics, and an AI-powered 24-hour summary explaining key drivers behind price changes
My Role & Process
Solo founder and engineer. Designed, built, and shipped the entire stack — iOS app, backend infrastructure, and AI integration. Used WebSocket streams for live price updates, serverless functions for on-demand GPT summaries, and caching strategies to limit repeated API calls.
Outcome
Built and launched to beta within 8 weeks. The AI-powered market summaries became the standout feature — helping users understand why prices moved, not just that they moved. The project has since been discontinued.
